He opened one eye slowly seeing as his brain was still too sleepy to process the voice. When he saw who it was, he smiled and shut his eyes again. “Hey Hina.” he grabbed a hold of her and hugged her tightly, pulling her close to his bare chest. “Thanks.” he kissed the top of her head and went back to what seemed like sleep, with her in his arms.
Hinata could almost feel a blush surfacing. She hadn’t expected Kiba to be the affectionate type of person right when he woke up, she had expected more of a surprised reaction than anything else. The kiss on her head had made her panic momentarily also.
She scrunched up her face slightly as she felt him pull her closer. She had wanted to give him his gift, even though it was a joke present. She didn’t know him well enough to buy anything with serious thought.
With a sigh she bit the skin that was closest to her mouth, hoping he’d wake up. That’s probably going to leave a mark, she thought.
“Oi. I got you a present.”
H continued to mumble in his sleep until two things processed in his mind. One, Hinata was in his arms, and two, she had a present for him. Oh and three it was his birthday. He woke up with a start and sat up.
He looked at her with a grin. “Thanks for the birthday wish, Hina!” he shot her a thumbs up, still feeling a tad awkward from the whole hugging thing.

Kiba layed on his bed snoring, a bubble comedically blowing out of his nose. As it popped, he murmured. “Mmn.” Today was his birthday, but he could care less. Every year, it was just his family members all over at his house, eating dinner, and having fun. Don’t get him wrong, he loved it, but it was just too much work.
He continued to snore as a knock rang out at his door. “Mmm. Come in.” he murmured once more, still asleep.
Today was her best friend’s birthday, so she decided to pay him a visit. A few days ago, she bought him the leather jacket that he’s been talking about all week. It costed her a big chunk in her wallet, but….ah, whatever.
After knocking quite softly (which was rare) on his door, she heard him give permission to walk in. Which was a bad idea for him since he was still half asleep (which she could hear from his voice). Immediately, a smirk formed on her lips. She quickly bursted into the room screaming, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIBAAAAAA!” while jumping on his bed, and plopping down onto him. “I GOT YOU A PRESENTTT~” she grinned and held up a gift bag.
He woke up with a start and wasn’t able to react in time before… “OOF!” he cried as the body landed on him. “Hanks, Tayu.” he mumbled under her as he hugged her.
He got them both to sit up positions and took the bag from her. “Oh you shouldn’t have!” he took the bag and hugged her again. It wasn’t like him to be humble, but it was Tayuya. She really didn’t need to. He opened it and hugged her again. “Tayuya you are the best!”

Hinata didn’t exactly remember how she had found out it was his birthday, but she wasn’t one to let that kind of information go to waste.
After hearing him reply to come in, she quietly walked into his room and tiptoed towards his bed before carefully crawling over him and leaning in so that she was only a few inches away from his face.
“Happy birthday, Kiba-kun” she breathed into his ear, a smirk across her lips.

He shrugged. “Well I’m used to it. My childhood friend acts like you do. TO be honest, I wouldn’t want to hang around a quiet, stuttering mess.”
he was getting antsy. He didn’t know why, but he couldn’t stop twiddling his fingers on the steering wheel. Even back in school, he only had 3 solid close friends. Tayuya was in a different school, and the other two were going out with one another so he was the awkward third wheel. That was probably why he appreciated Hinata’s company so much.
“Back at you.” he chuckled as he looked out his window. They were almost there, a few more minutes.
“Oh really?” She was kind of curious that he actually hung out with people who practically abused others, “are you a masochist or something?”
Hinata could notice his fidgeting and gave a quiet laugh, even though she didn’t know the reason behind his actions, it normally meant someone was excited or nervous. “I kept to myself, people didn’t like my attitude and always blamed me for their bad relationships,” she shrugged, “Sasuke’s pretty much all I have now.”
She was starting to get confused as to where they actually were in town, she was still pretty unfarmiliar with the area. “I’ve never met someone with the balls to tease me back, it’s different”
He laughed at her statement. “No, I’m far from it. I guess just growing up in a house full of loud animals, I’m just used to being around the same type of people. I’m not a very patient person, you know.”
He gripped the wheel tightly, as if that would make it legal to go faster than 60 km/h. He didn’t really know what he was currently feeling, but it was good and bad in everyway. “I know what you mean. I’m not very good at handling emotional bombshells and such, so when i fell into depression, everyone except Tayuya bailed.”
He smiled at her as he pulled into the parking lot. “Well then I’m glad I could challenge you.” he said as he looked for a parking spot.

In his life, he’s only had one serious relationship. A lot of them were one night stands and flings, so he’s never actually gone out to dinner with someone like Hinata. He would’ve been lying if he said he wasn’t nervous. But over the years, people asking him how he was after the break-up, he’s learned to hide his emotions.
He nodded with a smile as he pulled up to a red light. “That’s true.” he paused and looked at her. “I’m glad to have a friend like you.” he shifted the gears and drove at the Green light.
“I don’t see why..” she replied, mostly to herself though, “I’m loud and crude amongst other things.”
Hinata looked down at her nails and started playing with her fingers, in slight thought. Sometimes she wondered how people were actually able to stand being around her for long periods of time, and with Sasuke being her best friend after all these years, it was even more confusing.
“But.. I think I’ll enjoy havin’ ya around..” a smirk crossed her features as she continued to stare out the window, “it’s fun to tease you.”
He shrugged. “Well I’m used to it. My childhood friend acts like you do. TO be honest, I wouldn’t want to hang around a quiet, stuttering mess.”

He drove as anyone should. Hands at ten and two, but he was leaning back slightly. He drove a tiny bit over the speed limit, but not enough for the cops to pull him over if they were to spot him. He shifted the gears as the console glowed gentle red in contrast to the darkening night.
“Don’t feel pressure, Hina. Think of it as a dinner between friends.” he turned the corner. “I mean, we are friends, right?” he said with a chuckle.
She smiled to herself slightly, she didn’t usually allow anyone to call her nicknames, but she was almost enjoying it when he called her ‘Hina’. She also silently hoped that he was atleast a little nervous also and briefly wondered if he had gone out with someone like her before, not in personality, but looks. If so, it would explain how he was able to be calm.
Hinata nodded as she glanced at him from the corner of her eye, “I’d say so, especially since we already gave each other our lifes stories.”

He laughed as he assisted her up into the truck seat. “Don’t worry, I’m here to help.” The truth is, his truck used to be just a normal level truck. But as Akamaru grew more, and wanted to jump around more, he started slowly raising the truck to it’s current height.
He went over to the other side and climbed into the driver’s side door as he usually does, and turned the car on. He might’ve wanted it to look like a monster truck, but he didn’t want it to sound like one. Especially when Hana had to use it to transfer animals, it had to be quiet. The engine purred into life as he backed out.
“So, you nervous?”
She replied with a quiet ‘thanks’ before closing the door and buckling herself in. She wasn’t stupid about that kind of thing, and even though they were already so high up, she still didn’t want to end up through the windsheild.
The car was nice on the inside too, she gave him that. It was even pretty spotless too which made her happy. She wasn’t one for dirty cars.
At his question, Hinata looked over at him before turning back to the side window to look out it. “Maybe a bit,” she replied with a shrug, “I had some wine earlier when I was getting ready. I told ya, I’ve never been on a date before.”

He decided that this date wasn’t going to be between him and the person he would hope to like him back, but it would be between friends. Other than Tayuya, he didn’t have much close friends, even more so now he’s in a new place, so a new friend was what he needed most. And as far as he knew, she only socialized with that Sasuke kid.
He saw her nod and point to the truck. “No, it’s totally that Mini Cooper.” he said pointing to the small car parked in the spot in the corner. He shook his head with a chuckle, and opened the passenger side door of the Red Chevy. “Ladies first.”
Hinata had warned him from the beginning that she wasn’t any good at the whole date thing, and she wasn’t even exaggerating. She didn’t know how she was suppose to behave, what to wear, what to order, she was just completely clueless and hoped that Kiba would understand. Though, she’d be lying if she said she wasn’t a little bit excited about it.
She gave a slight laugh at his sarcasm before they approached the truck. She had thought it was big at first glance, but the thing was a monster. How the hell did someone even get into one, let alone out.
“Ya better help me out of this when we get there, or I’ll end up breaking my ankle.” she replied after somehow manoeuvring into the vehicle smoothly.

He shrugged and led the way. “We’re going to Century Grill, and we’re gonna be late, so comeon!” he stood by the staircase and held his hands out in a ‘you go first’ gesture.
He watched as she walked closer to him, her heels clicking. Wow, she looked really professional. But, he still had an image to maintain for her, even though she had already seen his soft side. “You look nice.” he said simply.
He walked beside her down the stairs with his hands in his pockets.
Hinata looked over at him and raised an eyebrow before deciding he was just a little bit slow when it came to compliments, her irritation from before now gone. Giving him another once over she replied plainly with a, “you clean up nicely yourself” before she faced forward and continued down the stairs.
She still couldn’t come up with a plausible reason as to why she was going on the date to begin with, but eventually decided it would be alright.
As they reached the parking garage she looked around, trying to guess which vehicle was his until she spotted the monster of a truck, parked only a few spaces away from her bike.
“That’s yours, isn’t it?” she asked, pointing in the direction of it.
